Slow Sunday Stitching -- Noel Quilt & Green Problem Child Quilt Complete

I took the Noel Quilt Panel project in my school bag this week.  Here it is in a kindergarten class.

Then it went with me to a 2nd/3rd & 4th grade gifted class.  Wow, some kids are really smart cookies.

At home in front of the tv I stitched and stitched the binding on this big green problem child quilt.  It is finished!  The fullness worked out and I think it looks great.  It will be a nice comfort quilt for someone.  I love the striped binding.  It measures 94.5" x 95".  It was purrrrfect to sit under and stitch.

The backing is fun.  I used a few holiday panels and neutral holiday scraps.

Inspector Candy and the striped cat walked through the frost-tipped grass to the check it out.

Candy instantly approved the tree-skirt panel on the back.

This colorful crib quilt got to go to 3rd grade this week.  I love the way the desks are arranged in this classroom.  There's plenty of room to walk around and help students.  There was a lot of participation during class discussions.

I'm linking up with Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching here.

  1. I'm sure the children enjoyed looking at the quilt you were binding and asked plenty of questions! And I'm glad the problem quilt turned out so well, happy stitching!

  2. You have quite the list of projects to work on! I’m afraid to make a list…but I probably should. The problem child quilt is gorgeous! The children in the classes where you are teaching must love seeing your quilts. Gail at the cozy quilter

  5. Oh, I’m sure your students really enjoyed seeing another side of their teacher’s life! I’m also a definite fan of striped bindings! Yours looks wonderful! Oh wow! I used to set up my third grade classroom that same way, in a U-pattern. I agree it was an awesome way to Observe and assist each student. I can just imagine a little baby exploring all those bright colors. Good for you!

  6. Gifted childrens' classes are an eye opener, aren't they?? Each one's abilities is amazing. Do kids in each class you supervise ask questions as you work on each quilt?? That list of yours for this year is impressive! The Santa backing is so much fun!
