I just love ORANGE in quilts! The good news is that I love it. The bad news is that I don't have very many large pieces of orange. Here's a sample of some of my tiny orange pieces in this Picadilly Circle block. Some of the fabrics used I only had enough for one little wedge of orange and it was gone. But at least I had enough for this one!
I'm linking up with Angela at SoScrapy: ScrapHappy blog. for the the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, 2014.
Glad you found enough orange for your wedges. They look look fabulous against the black.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angela. I'm always looking for oranges in the scrap bins everywhere. I just can't get enough orange!!!
DeleteThat's a new block to me. Looks like a Dresden variation. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern in from Quiltmaker Magazine, July/August '13.
DeleteOh! What a happy combination of orange. That Piccadilly Circle block is such a good one for RSC. It clears quite a few little bits from the stash.
ReplyDeleteI just love using the last little bits. Waste not, want not! I just love how those little scraps seem to multiply overnight.
DeleteI love how you've used so many different types of oranges in one block.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked how they went so good together!
DeleteOh that orange looks great with black, what a block! You have inspired me to go the sewing room this afternoon and work on my pickle dishes! How are your chickens?
ReplyDeleteSince I got rid of the three sickly "Craigslist" chickens, my original flock of 17 have been doing great. Yesterday I got a record 14 eggs! Whohoo! I just love those chickens.
DeleteThis is a new block to me, also. Love the oranges with the B?W...very pretty hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThanks, JulieRose! The original pattern in Quiltmaker Magazine had black/white backgrounds too. Have a great weekend.
DeleteOh, this block and your oranges are lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block - glad you had some orange to make it pop!
ReplyDeleteLove the oranges against the black.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block, love the contrast between your oranges and the back.
ReplyDeleteGreat block. I;m always on the lookout for pretty orange fabrics.
