I'm linking up with Angela at SoScrapy: ScrapHappy blog.
Since my Picadilly Circle is done I thought I would start a whole quilt top made with the strips found in my blue/green scrap bin. Some are teal... some are blue... some are green -- and everything in between. I added strips of orange because it's kinda across the color wheel from these colors. These are mostly the 2.5" strips that were left over from some of my Scrappy Trip quilt that I have been working on for over a year. I stitched them together end for end and am sewing them together like a jelly roll quilt. I started out with roughly 1885 inches. We'll see what size it is when finished.
Here's a picture of the mess that is sewn together. Hopefully next week I'll have a full quilt top to show you.
The big blue bin seems to never end. YEAH!
I like your picadilly Circle block, but I don't envy you cutting all those narrow triangles.
ReplyDeleteThe block is really quite simple. The wedges are paper-pieced.
DeleteGreat Block! I love the teals and aquas too! They seem so calming!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty circle block. The teals really stand out on the black background.
ReplyDeleteLove the teal with the black, very dramatic.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great block! Love the variety of teals. I agree with Carla - it is a very calming color. Have fun with your box of blue/green. I 'tamed' mine a bit last year making a wonky log cabin double bed size.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea, Deb. A scrappy wonky long cabin quilt is on my bucket list.
DeleteLove your block. But how fun to just choose random scraps for a jelly roll quilt - I bet it willbe fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block - and great background fabric too!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great block. I love the way the colors pop against the dark background
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks. I have more blue scraps than any other color, too. Good idea to make a strip quilt with blue, green and orange. Guys love those colors.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fortunate to have had to narrow down to only 20 different strips for your Piccadilly Circus block. So much variety is good to have. Lovely results.
ReplyDeleteI love your block. You have beautiful fabrics.
ReplyDeleteGreat piccadilly circus block. And I can't wait to see the jelly roll quilt unveiled. I'm sure the bits of orange add a great sparkle to the blues.
ReplyDeleteLove your block and they all are going to make a great quilt. I don't have much of that color either.
ReplyDeleteLove your block! Hope the you keep going on the blues -- looks like you have plenty.
