RSC14 -- January is Blue

Inspired by Cathy at Sane, Crazy, Crumby Quilting blog and the RSC14, I decided to make a pieced Sue block in blue.  I decided to try to use the scraps in my current scrap basket before sorting them to their respective gallon Ziplock bags sorted by color.  Cathy was kind to tell us where she found the block pattern.  It is at Q is for Quilter blog.  Here's my BLUE version for January:


I'm not sure how I will stitch the kite strings and the flower stem yet.  Time will tell.  I'm linking up for the Scrap Saturday at SoScrappy  blog.  Check out how everybody else is getting the "blues" for the RSC14 this week click here.
