Slow Sunday Stitching -- Homestead Harvest 4.23.17

Ahhh!  The progress is really starting to show.  I need to stitch another set of little berries (or buds?) down -- circles none the less and then there's only ONE MORE SECTION of circles!!!  I'm excited!

I am so happy I found the group at Kathy's Quilts for Slow Sunday Stitching.  I would have never attempted a project like this.  I'm so happy that I did.  I love the fact that instead of finding more projects in books and adding more UFO's to the list that I am actually making something gorgeous.  I am just loving the process and learning as I go.  Click by and check out all the other GORGEOUS projects at today's linky party here.

I started this project in December, 2016.  The pattern is called Homestead Harvest.  Below is a picture of the quilt I am making.  I am learning applique.  The pattern is from the book Simple Appeal, 14 Patchwork and Applique Projects for Everyday Living by Kim Diehl.

You are making good progress for just starting in January. You can't rush applique if you want it to look nice. She looks very lovely. Blessings!

So happy to hear you are encouraged to try something new by the slow stitchers! That makes me sooo happy! Enjoy finishing your circles! Who knows what might come next?!?!?!?

Love the quilt and I have always wanted to make this one! And I love Kim Diehl. I am making a quilt from one of her books as well. I have the applique all prepped, just need to put in on the borders. So I hope your circles cooperate with you and look forward to seeing it done!

LOVE how this is coming along! You are doing such a great job and moving along so fast on it. I think I am going to break out my kit for her Sweetbriar quilt next month - with you as the inspiration! Hope things are going well for you.

I'm excited for you that you are so close to all the circles down! It's a beautiful piece you've made.
