Slow Sunday Stitching

I worked on this crib quilt during my lunch at school this week.  Three corners complete.  It's a disappearing 9-patch quilt.

Update on my tension issue on my longarm.  I am STILL working on it!  I was so frustrated yesterday that I just had to walk away.  It's a combination of the winding of the bobbin tension and the bobbin case tension.  I'll keep at it.  I can only stitch about 24" and the top thread breaks, still.  I need to baby it along today to finish the red/white basket quilt so that I can possibly take it to work with me Tuesday.

I finished two quilts this week:  Zip It

...and red/white disappearing 9-patch.  Read about both in Friday & Saturday post...

Here's a picture of my ducks and their duck "pond" area.  They are runner ducks.  They do not need a lot of water.  They just like to get clean.

This one is just showing off...

The chickens like it too.  They really should be drinking the clean water I just gave them so that they don't get vent gleet...  But NOOOOO...

  1. Hopefully you can resolve the bobbin tension issue quickly. I don't have a long arm, but have friends that do. Unfortunately the bobbin tension is much more common issue then I thought it would be. Congrats on the finishes. Happy stitching this week.

  2. That's so annoying you are having problems with your long arm. I hope you can get it sorted soon. You have some lovely finished quilts. Sweet critters, too.

  3. If you don't have one, I highly recommend a Towa gauge. It solved 98% of my thread breakage issues. See the post on my blog about it, just put Towa in the search bar on the right sidebar.

  4. Ugh! Working through a tension issue is not fun. I hope you solve the issue soon. Lovely quilt finishes! Crazy that the "drinking" water is passed over for the swimming water instead!

  6. Oh my, such beautiful finishes! Zip It is glorious. It looks like an addictive one to work on. I do wish you the best on dealing with the tension issue, Kathy. I loved seeing photos of the ducks and chickens. It makes me miss our chickens and ducks. Blessings.

  8. Zip It is so striking!!! Love it! I enjoy seeing your ducks and chickens. On your LA thread breaking: do your pigtail thread guides have grooves in them--sometimes mine need to be replaced and that stops the breakage. Just a thought. That is very frustrating.
