I set a goal to work on at least one block a day of the Bonnie Hunter 2024 Mystery -- Old Town.
I sewed one block. When I realized that I was just putting 9-patches together (because the sub-assemblies were done back in January) things really started rolling. It was a rainy day. It drizzled and poured and the sun came out and it was on repeat all day. I decided I could be more productive sewing vs. pulling weeds.
There are over forty different orange scraps in the blocks above. I have started assembling the sashing. There are two tiny orange flying geese scraps in each one. Those pieces are smaller AND more scrappy! Hopefully I'll be able to show you my progress on those orange pieces next week. Stay tuned.

Wow, this is looking great! I got through Part 2 of Old Town & life intervened, so it's been sitting on the shelf on trays. I need to just power through like you're doing if I want to finish. That's what I ended up doing a couple weeks ago with County Clare.
ReplyDeleteYour Old Town is looking great! I shy away from Bonnie's mysteries as I am not a fan of small pieces. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty! I love the orange and turquoise together. Great progress, Kathy!
ReplyDeleteForty different orange fabrics, I'm really impressed with that, lucky if I can find 3 or 4 here.
ReplyDeleteOld Town is looking great. I didn't do this one although I did print all the clues each week. I still need to get my blocks together for Indigo Way. I'm thinking it might be a July project.
ReplyDeleteIt's fabulous! I got stalled by life after making all the flying geese blocks. All the fabrics are just waiting for me to return!
ReplyDeleteLove your Old Town in Orange. The mystery quilts is a great idea to use up so many scraps. The more we use the scraps the better the quilts look!
ReplyDeleteAll of Bonnie Hunter's patterns require small pieces so you even use less-than-desirable-colored pieces. Lol! Your Old Town looks great and the use of orange gives it zing. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Kudos to you for accomplishing a Bonnie Hunter quilt!!
