Due to having too many balls in the air I have removed the  Beaquilter -- Pattern Tester Project (pulled the fabrics -- I think) from the list.  School will be out for summer vacation in one month.  I won't have time to work on that one at all.  I'm not that great at applique yet.

Super Mario Brothers QA -- Mario Block Complete

Finally.  I finished the center block of the Super Mario Brothers QA at Cora's Quilts.  The next block, Yoshi, has already been released.  It was time to finish this one.  My son loves it and wants it done NOW.  He'll have to wait.  This is only a block a month.  Wish me luck.  This is the only block that uses 2.5" squares.  The rest use 1.5" squares.  I haven't done anything that small yet in large quantities.  (Note:  The red ball hanging from the clothesline is where my son practices hitting a ball with his bat.)

Sarah -- Confessions of a Fabric Addict & Jamie -- L'Fair Quilts

Have you seen what Sarah posted today at Confessions of a Fabric Addict blog?  Jamie from L'Fair Quilts featured as a guest host for the H2H Challenge.

Hmmmm.  It's making me think about the next few RSC14 blocks?

I just LOVE this design!  I see it scrappy!  I just finished a quilt this week.  I think I can add one more thing to my RSC14 ideas.  I'm adding this one to my bucket list.  Also, from Sarah's blog she wrote, "Isn't this a fabulous quilt?  So easy, yet it looks so intricate!  Be sure to hop over and check out the other versions of this quilt on Jamie's blog today, too!"

There's more???  Whohoo!!!

If you haven't already, there's still time to make something for the H2H Challenge.

RSC14 -- Cracker

I really liked the little Cracker block that Angela did for a purple tutorial this month.  Here's my one little block measuring 6 1/2" to finish 6" in the quilt.

Just for my notes, I used my Accuquilt dies 2" square and 2" x 3.5" rectangle.  I stitched them using 0.8" setting on my machine to make my 1/4" seam.

I'm linking up with Angela at SoScrapy: ScrapHappy blog.

1 scrappy jelly roll race quilt made while sorting the teals in the colors of blues/greens with some orange thrown in is quilted and needs a binding.

Whohoo! Now that's progress!

The Triangle QAL -- Friday Finish

Today was supposed to be my first day mowing for the year.  I LOVE to mow the lawn.  It's raining.  Change in schedule.  I decided to cook   clean   Q U I L T and drink pumpkin spice coffee!  It's time to finish our Triangle QAL quilts and link up with Paula at The Sassy Quilter.

Layout of this quilt was totally random.  I just pulled a piece from the bin and sewed.  After the triangles were in rows I did the same thing.  I just pulled a row from the pile and sewed.

Here's my little crib quilt for The Triangle QAL.  It is mostly solids with one gingham, one linen, one bed sheet, one polyester, one corduroy and a couple of my regular cotton solids.   It measures 32.5" x 57".  If I had to do it again I would have probably made it wider.  I really like the bright colors against the background of the rainy day.  I'm super happy with the solid orange binding.

Layout of this quilt was totally random.  I just pulled a piece from the bin and sewed.  After the triangles were in rows I did the same thing.  I just pulled a row from the pile and sewed.  I longarm quilted it with my versatile Circle Lord Swirls.  I think it gives the triangles plenty of motion.

I used my Accuquilt GO! Baby and the Accuquilt GO! Equilateral Triangle-4 1/2" Sides 4 1/4" Finished -  Die 55429.  That made cutting the different types of fabric scraps much easier.

Accuquilt GO! Equilateral Triangle-4 1/2" Sides 4 1/4" Finished - 55429
The backing fabric are cute little sea urchins (maybe snails).  This fabric was given to me from a friend and also on the scrap pile.

Here's a close-up of the little sea urchins.

Here's a close-up of the Circle Lord Swirls template quilting.

I'm also happy to link up with Bea at Beaquilter blog for the Accuquilt Go Challenge April.  The challenge for April was to make something using the GO! Equilateral Triangle die.  Every month on the 15th  Bea (who is awesome with EQ7) shows us an Accuquilt project and different options to use a featured die.  Fun, fun!  Thanks, Bea!

I'm happy to link up today's finish with Richard and Tanya Quilts for the Link-A-Finish FRIDAY.

Triangle QA

I don't think that triangles are my thing.  I'm working on this quilt for the Triangle QA at The Sassy Quilter.  Triangles right now are out of my comfort zone.  Here's my little quilt.  I even have a row that's missing a triangle!  I'll add it tomorrow when I've had more rest.  I just let the fabrics fly where they went at random for a modern look.  I used four different types of fabrics.  Some were cotton, there's a purple corduroy for texture, there's a polyester, and there is a possible vintage sheet in there.  Then there's the classic super cheap gingham.  All these fabrics were in the scrap bin.  Maybe once it's quilted with my swirls it with be more special.  I'll keep chugging along.  The big link up is on Friday, 4/25!  Better get it on the frame tomorrow or Friday!

Now that I look at this picture it really needs trimmed and a border?  Tomorrow is another day.

Update:  Now that I've had some sleep and I look at the quilt, it does not need a border.  I am happy to say that it went on and off my longarm very quickly and I didn't even snap a pic of it on the frame.  It looks much better now that it is trimmed and ready for binding.  Expect a Friday Finish with this quilt AND I'll be happy to enter it into the quilt parade at The Sassy Quilter!

Cora's Quilts Spring Sampler -- Block 1

Each Monday (starting today) a block will be released at Cora's Quilts for the Spring Sampler.  I will be using a monochromatic color scheme.  Although I'm an Accuquilt cut 'n go girl, I don't really care for cutting things ending in 1/4"... 7/8"... 5/8"...  But I LOVE this block!  Here's the block that was released today.   It is called Pyramids.

Okay, I gotta admit it.  I can't stop looking at this block.  I know I don't want to make a ton of them, because of all those odd sized cutting... but I just LOVE this block!!!  I bet it makes it close to the center (or at least on my side of the bed) in the quilt.

BOM & QA Updates

Before I start the Spring Sampler at Cora's Quilts I need to re-group and organize where I am with my other BOM's for 2014.  I know I do a weekly WIP Wednesday, but this will help me know where I am with each QA and help with future block color planning.

Thanks to the FNSI I am all caught up with my Christmas QA at Love Laugh Quilt blog.

I'm all caught up on my Sew at Home Mummy  Classic Meets Modern BOM.  Looks like I need more green in the up-coming blocks.

I am up to date on the kite girl blocks for the RSC14.

I am up to date on the Pat Sloan Globetrotting BOM.

I am up to date on the Quilt Doodle Designs 2014 Mystery (Christmas) BOM

I am a little behind and need the March and April blocks for the Mod Mod QA @ Block Lotto.  Here's the January and February blocks:

I need some purple blocks for this month's RSC14 Picadilly Circle blocks

I am only half way done with the Super Mario center block QA at Cora's Quilts.

Triangle QA at The Sassy Quilter.  Triangles all cut; need sewn into a top!

...And Sew On BOM at Quiet Play (one block to go)  I have everything I need to make the last block.  I just need the four or so hour block of time to do it.

MSBHQAL (Molli Sparkles Broken Herringbone Quilt Along)
I only make one block for this QA.  I really love the pattern.  I just need the time to work on it.

We Can Do It Skill Builder blocks -- 4 to go?

Summer Sampler/Solstice Stars got combined.  I might need to add the Spring Sampler to this set too.

Bluepatch Mystery Quilt -- No pics found...  Just a few blocks to go on that one too...

Bonnie Hunter 2013 Celtic Solstice Mystery
I still need to make some chevrons...  All other blocks are sewn.  The top needs to be put together after the chevrons are made.

Gypsy Wife QA (recycling  Red/White Flower Basket Quilt into this project & duds.)
I have really fallen behind on this project.  I do have the spreadsheet and some awesome checklists.

WHEW!!!  Now that's a lot going on at once.  Now that I know where I am, I can see where I need to go.  I'm going to start with what needs the least done first.
